Menswear Press Officer - River Island

With hundreds of stores operating in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and more, River Island offers fantastic career opportunities.

Working between the Showroom on Bond street and the head office in Hanger Lane, you will work closely with (and report to) the PR Manager to support delivery of the PR strategy. You will focus on Menswear and will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the press office, supervising the press assistants and interns, management of press and key blogger relationships. In addition, you will also be required to draft press releases as and produce weekly media alerts using Photoshop and InDesign.

This position will require the development of strong working relationships with key people in Buying. Merchandising, Design, Visual Merchandising and our Oxford street stores. You are also required to manage and develop press sample process in Head office, whilst also overseeing press loans from store as well as returns.

This role will involve the generation and delivery of the press calendar of activity including events, coverage placement ideas, entertaining etc. You will also be responsible for the management of celebrity placement agency, establishing and developing relationships with Music/ 3rd party partnerships.

This is a challenging role operating in a fast paced and responsive environment. Decisions are made and acted on quickly (as our product changes very frequently). The brand is currently performing well and so it is extremely important that the PR team focus on the future - finding new and interesting ways to support and sustain press activity as well as manage and sustain the UK PR Budget with monthly updates with the PR Manager.

The team will be expected to constantly look for new opportunities to use as a platform to support the brand.

We currently have a very flat structure - this means that the most senior people in the business work closely day to day with the teams.
