Disney teams up with fashion designers

(Launches/Relaunches, Fashion)

This September sees the launch of a collaboration between Disney's Minnie Mouse character and a number of international designers creating Minnie Mouse Must Haves. Consisting of one-off garments and accessories, the collection will be unveiled at London Fashion Week and auctioned together with eBay to support the BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation. Designers including Giles, Michael van der Ham, Richard Nicoll, Piers Atkinson, Katie Hillier, Lulu Guinness and Terry de Havilland will interpret Minnie's signature bows and polka dots, while Meadham Kirchhoff will reveal a similar collaboration at its spring/summer 2013 show. The pieces will also be exhibited in a standalone presentation during LFW; exposure handles the press and PR for the campaign. The Minnie Mouse Must Haves auction forms part of eBay's fashion campaign supporting fashion design talent. eBay's activities also include the recently announced partnership with the BFC's Fashion Forward initiative, championing emerging British designers.
